Ricardo Ramirez breaks the barriers when it comes choosing between being a trail runner or a road runner. Ricardo has a long career of podium finishes on and off the trail. From 1st place 5Ks to winning a 200 mile mountain race in 2017 he has a gift of being able to bounce between trail to road races back to back and perform well.
“Sometimes, it's just time in the mountains and other times it's pushing yourself to a 5:05 minute/mile pace at the track.” He takes his gift seriously and doesn't compete for the win. It's just a result of his passion.
Born in Zacatecas, Mexico, this "Quiet Runner", as he likes to be called, came to Los Angeles 19 years ago and considers LA his home. The perfect environment to hone in his skills and have a diverse race schedule.
One of the athletes he admires, Rickey Gates has a quote Ricardo can relate to: "It's not about going fast, or winning, it's about what it means to me." Meaning, we share these "wins" with the world but it's my drive and passion that gets me out of bed every day to train, eat right and take my vitamins. It's about me, my muscles and the terrain under my feet.
"My favorite Vital 4U® product is Screamin Energy® Max Hit®, It helps keep my energy high without any adverse effects."
"On long races (50m +), I take one [Max Hit] before l start, one in the middle of my race and at night I take Vital 4U® Screamin Energy® Ultra. Together (Max Hit and Ultra) it's the perfect recipe to keep me going.
